Nicoz Balboa es una ilustradora y pintora nacida en Roma y que vive en París desde el 2201. En Roma se graduaría en el I.E.D. (Instituto Europeo de Diseño) y en París haría tres meses de estudios en la E.S.A.G. En 1996 empieza a auto producirse sus propios cómics para algunas revistas como Catholic Girls, Caccapiscia y seguiría con los años en minicomics como Cuoricini, Pochi Intimi, Axe Rouge, Maison, Adesivi, Njcoz’s Girls. En el 2005 publicará su primer álbum de cómics en solitario con el Centro Fumetto Andrea Pazienza. En el 2008 publicará el segundo llamado “Les larmes the crocodile” para la publicación “DIANTRE!”. Sus cómics, trabajos artísticos e ilustraciones aparecen en diversas revistas tanto individualmente como en formatos PDF. Nico hace posters para bandas de rock y participa en varias exposiciones colectivas.
Nico Balboa es una mujer hiperactiva tanto en su vida real como en la red. Además de su web tiene su propio blog personal, su página de Flickr, su espacio de MySpace, su blog-bd y su espacio de vídeos de YouTube. Sus pinturas e ilustraciones son ácidas y gamberras, con tintes de humor negro y un simpático descaro. Imágenes atrevidas y desenfadadas en acrílicos, aceites o pinturas al agua que nos recuerdan algunos maestros del cómic underground de los 80. Nico es también una gran activista en el mundo del tatoo no solo por los que ella lleva por parte del cuerpo, sino también por su colaboración con diferentes artistas. Una mujer sin complejos con una obra llena de color y agresividad no exenta de ternura.

Nicoz Balboa was born in Rome. she graduated at the I.E.D.(European institut of design) of Rome and did a 3 month stage at the E.S.A.G. of Paris. In 1996 she start to self-produce her comics with some fanzines called Catholic Girls, Caccapiscia and she went on the years with several minicomics as Cuoricini, Pochi Intimi, Axe Rouge, Maison, Adesivi, Njcoz’s Girls. In 2005 she publish her first solo comic-album “Nicozrama” with the Centro Fumetto Andrea Pazienza, and in 2008 she publish another solo comick-book named “les larmes the crocodile” for the french publisher “DIANTRE!” her comics, artworks and illustrations appeared also on magazines as the french Target Magazine, RUGGED (the Carhart magazine), Stripburger, the spanish LOOK DE BOOK and on the PDF formats as in the magazine Ideafixa (www.ideafixa.com) or as a PDF solo comic-album on electrocomics.com named LUNATICA. She often work for rock bands doin’ rock-posters ( Unsane, Motorama, the Normals, the Intellectuals, Bloody Hollies, the Smackdown etc…) She partecipates to lots of collective exhibitions as “don’t say motherfucker, motherfucker” at the MFGallery of New York, “Knock your socks off” at the Head Quarters Gallery of Montreal, the ” Dirty Show” in Detroit, “immigrant punk” at Black Maria Gallery iof Los Angeles, ” SKULLS OF ROME” in Rome organized by DRAGO editions, “Girls Adventures” at Arkel gallery in Bruxell, “Pop Invaders” and “Money-Lisa” at Mondo POP gallery in Rome. She did also 2personal exhibition in Paris (at the Toast Gallery and at the Tribal Act Gallery ). She’ve realized a 2minutes cartoon with the french group Le dernier Cri for the film “les religions sauvages”. Last winter the magazine Slow Food interwieved her, the art-site juxtapoz.com made and online article about her and the italian slap-press.com refered her website. She’s preparing a kid-book for the french-publisher Diantre!. She lives in france since 2001 where she rule the TRUE HATE ART GALLERY (truehateartgallery.com)

Nico Balboa is a  hyperactive woman both in their real life as on the network. She has a Web, a personal blog, Flickr page, its space MySpace, your blog-bd and its space YouTube videos. His paintings and illustrations are acidic and hooliganism, with bold black humor and a sympathetic nerve. Images bold and casual teachers who remind us of some underground comic of 80. Nico is also a great activist in the world of tattoo not only by those she leads by the body but also for his collaboration with different artists. A woman without complex with a work full of color and aggressiveness not without tenderness.
